I had selected niche-facets of tax law in my university studies. During my traineeship at the Cologne tax court, I asked my instructor where I could best learn about tax law consultancy. He named the three most relevant firms in the Cologne-Bonn area. I applied at the last moment to the first-named address and was accepted – through a happy coincidence, as I found out later.
